Apple announce new iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard with Trackpad

Apple have announced the latest iPad Pro model with the A12Z Bionic chip, Ultra Wide camera, LiDAR Scanner and a brand new Magic Keyboard with a built in trackpad.

Starting with the camera set up, there is now a 12MP Wide camera and 10MP Ultra Wide camera. The Ultra Wide allows users to capture a much wider field of view without having to move their position.

In terms of performance, the new A12Z Bionic chip eight-core GPU and can support editing of 4K video as well as being able to effortless render 3D models.

The new iPad Pro offers up to 10 hours battery life, Wi-Fi 6 support and gigabit-class LTE support which offers up to 60% faster speeds over the previous generation.

The brand new LiDAR Scanner enables the measurement of objects up to 5 meters away. This can also enhance augmented reality experiences and scan environments.

Finally, Apple is adding official mouse support for iPad within iPadOS 13.4. With this, the new Magic Keyboard comes with an inbuilt trackpad. There is support for multiple gestures which allows you to easily switch apps and activities multitasking. The iPad attaches magnetically to the keyboard and uses a floating design for use on either a lap or desk. The hinge system allows the angle to be adjusted between zero and 130 degrees. The keyboard is back-lit and uses a scissor mechanism which has just 1mm key travel

iPadOS 13.4 will support the Magic Keyboard as well cursor support across older iPad Pro models too. Pricing for the Magic Keyboard is £299 for the 11 inch and £349 for the 12.9 inch model.

The iPad Pro comes in 2 sizes, 11 inch and 12.9 inch. Pricing starts from £769 for the 11 inch 128GB model, going up to £1619 for the 1TB LTE model.

They are available to pre-order now from Apple and due for delivery in early April.
