This 5G portable concept router from Razer looks to be the ultimate accessory for serious gamers on the go, the Sila 5G Home Router.
The Razer Sila 5G Home Router features a rechargeable battery and 4 ethernet ports so you can take it anywhere and create a LAN network. It also features Razer’s custom FasTrack technology which analyses and priorities router traffic. This will ensure that gaming data can get set to priority to make sure you have the biggest advantage possible.
All you’d need is 5G enabled SIM as well as some 5G coverage to take advantage of those fibre like speeds. It’s an exciting move for Razer, as well as a realistic use case for 5G.
The Razer Sila 5G in built in partnership with Qualcomm using the SDX55 + Hawkeye IPQ8072A chipset. As well as 5G, it will work just fine in 4G areas, albeit at slower speeds. All of the routers settings can be controlled via apps for both iOS and Android.
There is no price or release has been announced due to the device just being a concept. The home version of the Sila router comes in at around £279.
Razer has branched out in recent years to go beyond PC accessories. Their range now includes earbuds, PC cases, video streaming equipment and even phone cases.
