Following the teaser before CES, OnePlus have officially unveiled the OnePlus Concept One.
It is the first ever phone to feature colour-shifting glass technology. This allows the cameras to be hidden when not in use. Developed in partnership with McLaren, this electrochromic glass is used on their high end sports cars. The glass can shift from transparent to opaque black in just 0.7 seconds. This is achieved by passing a small electrical current through it.
The glass has a practical benefit too. It allows a level of control of how much light is let into the lens in a bright environment.
OnePlus Concept One is a stunning device. It integrates both glass and the same stylish Papaya Orange leather used in McLaren’s own cars.
In terms of the specs of the device, things are largely similar to the OnePlus 7T Pro. There is a 90Hz QHD+ AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 855+, 12GB of RAM, 4085mAh battery and of course OnePlus’ 30W Warp Charge.
The camera itself again is the same as the 7T Pro. A triple lens set up with a 48 mega-pixel main sensor, 16 mega-pixel ultra wide and a 8 mega-pixel telephoto lens.
There is no pricing or availablity and as this is still very much a concept device. However it may give us a peek into the future of OnePlus devices.
