Nintendo’s Mario Kart game for mobile, Mario Kart Tour, now has a multiplayer mode available, however there are a few caveats.
The multiplayer is currently a beta which runs from today until 29th December. The beta is only available to Gold Pass subscribers, a paid service that allows players to receive several in-game benefits in Mario Kart Tour for a monthly fee. There is however a 2-week free Gold Pass trial for first time subscribers.
This is a beta, so there may be bugs, glitches, lag and other unexpected behaviour in the game.
A real-time multiplayer test available for subscribers to the #MarioKartTour Gold Pass has begun. For further details, please click the link below. https://t.co/icPzyGiuVK pic.twitter.com/mRbyzIJsGz

Mario Kart Tour launched to a mixed reception several months ago. While the game has great colourful graphics you’d expect from a Mario title, it stuffers with awkward controls and of course, being a mobile game, packed full of micro-transactions. May be the multiplayer update with breathe some new life into the title.
