Google Assistant interpreter mode available for phones

Interpreter mode will be able via Google Assistant on Android and iOS devices starting today.

Interpreter mode allows for real-time translation of 44 different languages. You simple ask the Assistant to “help me speak French/Japanese/Italian” and it will trigger. You can then simply speak to the Assistant and it will provide you with the spoken and visual translation within a few seconds.

There is also a new Smart Replies feature which helps keep the conversation going if you find yourself lost for words.

Interpreter mode was previously available on Google Home devices, but having the feature mobile will be much more useful, especially for those trying to learn a language or out in a foreign country. The full 44 language list is as follows;
