Nintendo has announced the long rumoured Switch Lite. Launching on the 20th September for $200 (no UK pricing has been mentioned), there are some key differences to note from the original Nintendo Switch model.
Most prominently, this is an all-in-one device, as the Joy-Con controllers of the previous model no longer detach from the system. Another big change is that the Lite is a portable handheld only, which means no Switch dock, no table top mode, no kickstand and no ability to be plugged into a TV or external display.
The Switch Lite can play all existing Nintendo Switch games and has an increased battery life of 3-7 hours of playtime depending on what you’re playing. Overall, it’s a smaller and lighter device compared to the full size Switch, dropping from 398g to 275g. The screen has also been shrunk to 5.5″ compared to the 6.2″ display
The Switch Lite will be available in 3 colours, yellow, grey and turquoise. Keep it locked for updates on UK pricing and availability.
