EE has added more locations to its 5G network. As of today, EE customers in Liverpool, Glasgow, Guildford, Maidstone, Watford and Wolverhampton can take advantage of the 5G service, provided that they have a 5G enabled handset of course.
Not only is 5G better for speed compared to 4G, offering higher bandwidth and lower latency, it also boasts superior capacity. The latest rollout includes areas which have high footfall such as Bristol Parkway, Cardiff Castle, Camden Market and Carnaby Street.
According to independent network performance company RootMetrics, EE 5G now covers 60% of London, and has wider 5G coverage than its nearest rival, Vodafone. 75% of tests in London reached 50Mbps or faster, 60% of tests hit at least 100Mbps, however this is still a far cry from the touted gigabit speeds that 5G is truly capable of.
