Meet the Analogue Pocket

If you’re not familiar with Analogue, they are a company which specialise in making modern consoles for original classic games. They’ve already released the NT Mini, Super NT and the Mega Sg so you can play NES, SNES and Sega Mega Drive games in pixel perfect 1080p quality. Now they releasing a handheld and it looks stunning.

Called the Analogue Pocket, it supports Nintendo Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games out of the box. With future adapters, Sega Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Atari Lynx games will be supported too.

The device packs a 3.5-inch backlit LCD display with a resolution of 1600×1440. That works out to be 615 pixels per inch, or 10 times the resolution of the original Game Boy display. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card support and a rechargeable battery via USB-C.

There is separate accessory for the Pocket called the Analogue Dock which enables HDMI output for play on a TV or monitor. Also included is two USB ports for controllers and Bluetooth support. This pairs perfectly with the retro controllers available from 8Bitdo.

Another feature of the Analogue Pocket is the ability to make digital music via the built-in synthesizer and sequence called Nanoloop.
